The engineering side of Materials Science and Engineering is based largely on physics. We look at materials properties, like strength, density and toughness, as well as thermal, electrical and magnetic properties. This knowledge allows us to understand how a materials will operate is specific environment.
You will need to know some basic physics principles before you start your course, but you will learn how to apply them as you study with us.
If you want a bit of a refresher on physics, this site is designed to give you some basic principles that you will need to know during your course.
